Questions and Tips for the EDVK Scenery

Q1: Where can I download the scenery?
A: There are two sites where you can get the scenery. Both are great websites for Flight Simulation where you can find a lot of software, tutorials and information for FSX:
At both sites you have to register at no cost before you are allowed to download the files. Search for EDVK or Kassel-Calden in the download area.

Q2: I don't know how to install the scenery in FSX?

Q3: The airport has steep slopes, the altitude of the runway and buildings are substantial different.
A: The file EDVK_ALT.BGL has to copied in the FSX Folder:X:\.....\FSX\SCENERY\WORLD\SCENERY\

Q4: The File EDVK_ALT.BGL is in the right place. I have still the same problems.
A1: Certain Add-Ons like VFR Germany or FS Global or other sceneries interfere with the terrain changes in EDVK. One solution is to give EDVK scenery a higher priority in the scenery library. Special solution for Aersoft Add-Ons: De-activate the AFD file of EDVK in the AFD folder.
A2: If you use the Tool Scenery Config Editor, it may happen that this program puts your standard scenery above the EDVK scenery in the scenery.cfg File. Changing it to the default priority will solve the problem.
Q6: I only have the FSX Basic Program. Do I really need SP2 and FSX Acceleration?
A: You need SP2 to run the scenery. Without FSX Acceleration some objects like parking cars and fuel trucks ... etc will be missing, but the scenery will work.
